A native of New England, Andrew DiMola was born and bred in Massachusetts where he still resides. Beginning piano at an early age he quickly moved on to guitar at the age of 7. When he was 18 he got his first upright bass and sought out musical heroes, Greg Cohen and Trevor Dunn, for private instruction studying Jazz and Classical technique.
In the last twenty years Andrew has played with The Dresden Dolls, Cuddle Magic, The Fringe, Russ Gershon, The Pioneer Valley Symphony, and The Gill Aharon Trio. As a sound engineer he has worked with John Zorn’s Masada String Trio, Cobra and Sex Mob. He has also been a band leader for several of his own projects, most recently Turkey Vultures. And he has arranged strings for Apollo Sunshine and Hello Echo.
